Today, I had a heartbreaking encounter with a potential client who came to me seeking help for his botched scalp micropigmentation procedure. This was a young man whom I had met a year ago when he was extremely self-conscious about his hair loss. He was so apprehensive about lifting his hat that I had to go out of my way to make him feel comfortable. I assured him that being bald is not a life sentence and that Scalp Micropigmentation could help him. However, his primary concern was the cost, and I provided him with a fair quote.
Today, he walked in again, still wearing his hat, and lifted it to show me his scalp, which was a disaster. It was the worst attempt at a scalp micropigmentation procedure I had ever seen, and I have corrected several such botched procedures in the past. This young man had gone to someone else because they were cheaper, a microblading artist who had claimed to do scalp micropigmentation as well. However, this person had no training in the technique and had done a terrible job.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to do your research and select a qualified artist for any cosmetic procedure. Scalp Micropigmentation and microblading are two different disciplines that require different techniques. As a client, price should never be your top priority; the artist's qualifications and work are what matter most. A scalp micropigmentation procedure is an investment, and you should never shop for the lowest price. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Unfortunately, in this young man's case, the damage was enormous, and the only recommendation I could make was for him to have his botched procedure laser removed before we could even touch it. He now has to pay for the botched procedure, the laser removal, and the redo, paying three times for a procedure that should have been done right the first time.
I cannot emphasize enough how crucial it is to select a qualified and experienced artist for your Scalp Micropigmentation procedure. Please do your research, ask to see pictures of their work, and don't let cost be your primary concern.
